Kathleen was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved often growing up, including Maryland, Connecticut and Kentucky. She holds a B.S. Degree in Education from Central Connecticut State University and a Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Reading from the University of Louisville. She spent a successful career in Information Technology Staffing and Recruiting and has spent the last decade teaching and writing children’s books.
“Cat Can’t Read” was inspired by Kathleen’s own struggle with Reading. She could not read until third grade! Her issues inspired her to write children's books about struggles, never giving up, and what she calls “Making Stars from Scars”.
Kathleen was a featured new children’s author at the Book Expo of America at the Javit’s Center in NYC.
Along with helping young children, the author hopes the books might inspire adults and parent to help children turn their struggles into strengths. The vision is to help children that have academic, behavioral, emotional, and even physical limitations. There are more books in the works!
